Artist of the Month-
Elizabeth de Sherbinin
Elizabeth has always been interested in art but didn't start painting until
1995 while living in Clayton, NC. She took classes at JCC Cleveland annex
instructed by Jo Johnston.
Elizabeth started with drawing and colored pencil,
and eventually moved to watercolor. She also experimented with pastels and
acrylics, which quickly became her favorite. Now she uses acrylics as a base and
paints with water-soluble oils on top.
She has exhibited at The Clayton Center, The Frank Creech Gallery and
Nichol's Studio and Art Gallery.
This month, Elizabeth won second place in a juried show, located at Nichol's
Studio and Art Gallery, judged by nationally renown artist, John Poon.
"My goal in painting is to encourage others to see in new ways."
